Introduction

Dr. Will went to Sweden in 1914; he and Dr. Charlie also hosted a number of Swedish physicians in Rochester over the years. In 1934, His Royal Highness Prince Olav visited the Clinic to learn about Mayo's group practice.

The Order of the Northern Star was instituted by King Frederick I in 1748 to honor foreigners for their service to Sweden.  Presented to Dr. Will by His Majesty the King of Sweden.
