How do I copy citations into the Request PDFs of articles form?

The main points to remember when requesting articles:

  • Include the major parts of the citation: Journal name, volume, start page, and year. Add more information if available
  • Put 2 blank lines in between each citation when requesting multiple citations
  • No blank lines within a citation

How do I copy citations from Ovid into the Request PDFs of articles form?

Please assist the Libraries by using these instructions for copying citations from Ovid:

Select desired articles by using the checkbox to the left of citation. If citations are on multiple pages, use the "Next" arrow towards the bottom of page. 

After selecting citations, click on the Export button at the top of the results page.

In the Export Citation List box, select Microsoft Word and Citation (Title,Author,Source). Leave the Citation Style as Ovid Citation. Click on Export Citation(s).

From the new Microsoft Word document that appears, copy the citations (select all text and press Ctrl+c). Make sure there are 2 lines of space between each citation. The citations should look like this:

In the Request PDFs of articles form, paste the text in to the "Which article(s) do you want?" field (place cursor in field and press Ctrl+v).

Make sure that:

  1. There are two blank lines between each citation. (Press the Enter key three times after each citation.) 
  2. No blank lines within each citation

How do I copy citations from PubMed into the Request PDFs of articles form?

Please assist the Libraries by using these instructions for copying citations from PubMed:

  1. Select desired articles by using the checkbox to the left of citation. If citations are on multiple pages, use the "Next" link at the top and bottom of search results. 
  2. Click on the "Display Settings " button at the top right of the results list.
  3. From the pop-up box that appears, choose Summary (text).
  4. Copy the citations (select citations and press Ctrl+C).
  5. In the form, paste the text in to the "Which article(s) do you want?" field (place cursor in field and press Ctrl+V).
  6. Make sure that:
    • There are two blank lines between each citation. (Press the Enter key three times after each citation.)
    • No blank lines within each citation
