A personal Ovid account has several advantages -- searches can be saved permanently. The inactivity disconnect remains at 12 minutes. However, with a personal account, searches are often retrievable. In addition, you may use the My Projects feature to store citations and annotations.
To set up a personal account, open an Ovid database and click on the My Account link on the top of page.
If you do not have a personal account, you will be prompted to create one:
Click on Create new Personal Account.
Fill in the fields in the form (asterisked items are required), and click the Create button.
Once you have created a Personal Account, you can access your saved searches, citations, and annotations by clicking on the My Workspace tab.
NOTE: If you have an existing Personal Account that the library set up for you, always log in via the Ovid Personal log in on the library home page. The two account types are not compatible.
