Requesting Items via Document Delivery: Requesting Books, Journal volumes & Multimedia items

A guide to using the Mayo Clinic Libraries Document Delivery system

Using the library catalog to request items

Putting holds on library items in the online catalog is the fastest way to claim the materials you would like to borrow.

In order to create holds you must have an associated barcode in your library catalog account and create a unique PIN.  Use this guide to ensure your library barcode and PIN are active.

Once your barcode and PIN are active, visit the library catalog, locate the item you'd like to borrow, and click the Request link in the item description.

Using Document Delivery to request items

You may use the Document Delivery system to request books, print journals and other items.  Library staff will process your request and send you an email letting you know when your item(s) will be available.
