Get PubMed References into a Citation Management Software

Follow these steps to export records from PubMed:

  1. Open the Endnote library you would like to import the record into
  2. Open a web browser (e.g. Chrome) and go to PubMed
  3. Select a record in PubMed
  4. Select and choose the 'Send to' pull down menu
  5. Select 'Citation Manager'
  6. Select 'Create File'
  7. The citation should download - look to the bottom of the web window (in Chrome). Click on this download.
  8. The citation should directly import into Endnote
