The Patients' Library at Methodist Hospital is here to serve patients and their family members at no charge. The library offers a wide array of resources for both educational and recreational purposes. The library is also available to assist in personal business matters with computer, fax and document scanning services available.

Reading Materials
The Patients' Library offers a varied selection of popular fiction and nonfiction books, including children's and large print, for your leisure reading needs. Library staff would be happy to help you find/select a book for your stay, or you may search our
We have a wide range of popular magazines- including genres such as sports, life style, celebrities and current affairs.
The Star Tribune and USA Today newspapers are delivered daily to the library. We keep copies of the paper for one week.
Audio/Visual Entertainment
Movies: The library boasts a collection of over one thousand DVDs of all different genres. We have portable DVD players, as well as TV/DVD stations that are available for check out and can be delivered to your room. You can contact the library at 507-266-8923 to receive a catalog of all of our DVDs.
Music: If you prefer to listen to music, the library has hundreds of CDs, ranging from classical to rock, along with CD players for check out.
Audiobooks: The library also houses a small collections of audiobooks on CD, as well as a collection of PlayAways, which are small portable media players that each contain one book.
If you are interested in music CDs or audiobooks, you can contact the library to receive a catalog of these items.
The library also has a Blue Tooth Speaker available for check out, so you can listen to your own media from your phone.
Gaming: Also available for check out are two TV/X-Box console stations and dozens of games for X-Box One and X-Box 360. Contact the library to learn more.

Looking for something to pass the time? The library has games, puzzles and playing cards that can be played in the library or checked out to the patient's room.
Feeling a little more creative? The library also has a variety of craft materials including Adult Coloring Kits, knitting/crochet supplies and more!

The Patients' Library carries various devices to help patients communicate despite physical/language limitations. Some items that are available to borrow include:

- Reading glasses / magnifiers
- Picture boards / Talking pictures
- Foreign language materials
