“Stone being added to the exterior of the Plummer Building. 1927/1928”.

The W. Bruce Fye Center for the History of Medicine is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibit that focuses on the construction at the Mayo Clinic. “Mayo Clinic Under Construction” will be on display in the Plummer 12 Library beginning November 10, 2025. This exhibit focuses on the history of construction and the demolition of Mayo Clinic buildings in Rochester. You can learn more about scrapped building plans and how the availability of parking has always been a topic of discussion. This exhibit features a timeline of major construction and demolition events at the Mayo Clinic, a selection of building construction photographs, newspaper clippings, and artifacts.

Curated by the W. Bruce Fye Center for the History of Medicine, this exhibit is part of a rotating series. It is open to all Mayo staff and students.
