Thank you for your interest in completing a library-run selective. Please review the criteria below and review the requirements for the specific selectives using the tabs. Please note that each selective has a cap of five students per campus per week.
- First, contact the librarian at your campus (Cynthia Chelf (Rochester campus), Lisa Marks (Arizona campus), or Tara Brigham (Florida campus)) for pre-approval. Students should work with the librarian at their respective campus.
- Selective sign up should happen no earlier than four months in advance, and no later than four weeks in advance.
- Follow the regular instructions for selective sign-up in your learning management system. Please note that the Enrichment Team requires selectives to be requested at least four weeks in advance.
- Schedule a 30-minute meeting via Outlook with your librarian to discuss your selective experience. The meeting should occur the Friday during the selective week or the week after the selective, but can be negotiated with the librarian.
During your selective week:
- Complete the work for the selective (see descriptions). All require at least one writing assignment, generally two to four pages in length.
- Send your work to the librarian at your campus by the end of your selective week and before the scheduled meeting.
After the selective week:
- Attend your scheduled meeting with the librarian in order to receive a completed mentor evaluation form. This may also be done at the end of the selective week.
- Submit the completed mentor evaluation in your learning management system. This should be done no later than 15 days after the selective has been completed.
