Mayo Clinic Libraries are pleased to announce several updates and enhancements to UpToDate. UpToDate is a popular point-of-care tool that can be accessed from the library website, EPIC, and directly on the internet. An app-based version of the tool is also available for download on mobile devices.
Mayo Clinic users can now register and login to UpToDate using their Mayo email address and password. Creating this account allows access to UpToDate from anywhere, including on mobile devices using the app. Logging in also allows for bookmarking and tracks searches for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) submission. Access to all UpToDate content is still available without an account, and users can continue to access UpToDate via the Library website without logging in. If you have an existing UpToDate account with CME credits and history, you can merge that account with your new SSO-enabled account during the initial login process. Follow these instructions to complete the registration and sign-in process.
UpToDate Pathways are a new series of interactive guides that can help make appropriate decisions related to specific clinical questions based exclusively on content synthesized from UpToDate and the underlying evidence found in society guidelines and medical literature. Pathways can be accessed from the top-level navigation or from within search results for patient-specific recommendations. Pathways are available on both the website and app versions of UpToDate.
UpToDate Lab Interpretation Monographs are a new tool to support interpretation and decision making when abnormal lab results occur. Lab Interpretation Monographs are available in both the website and app versions of UpToDate.
Additional details and training videos for Pathways and Lab Interpretation Monographs are available in the UpToDate user documentation.
UpToDate is just one of many library apps available for your personal device. For a complete list, visit our guide. If you have questions about UpToDate or any other library-related questions, email library@mayo.edu or call
