Systematic reviews and meta-analyses should be viewed as study methodologies. These methods have been developed to address specific, answerable questions (usually clinical). Published systematic reviews and meta-analyses adhere to standards established and published by several international organizations.1

Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA): aims to help authors improve the reporting of systematic reviews and meta-analyses. - Webinar: The PRISMA 2020 Statement In this presentation, Dr. Matthew Page describes the PRISMA 2020 27-item checklist, an expanded checklist that details reporting recommendations for each item, the PRISMA 2020 abstract checklist, and the revised flow diagrams for original and updated reviews. The checklist includes new reporting guidance that reflects advances in methods to identify, select, appraise and synthesize studies.
