This page contains instructions for accessing and requesting access to full-text articles, browsing journal publisher websites, and pausing or unsubscribing from journal alerts.
When you are viewing an article you have full-text access to through Mayo Clinic Libraries, a blue "Download PDF" button will appear at the bottom left corner of your screen. This is the button for Nomad, an application Mayo Clinic uses to prepare articles for PDF download. Nomad is installed on the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers of all Mayo Clinic-issued laptops and PCs and will appear when you are logged into the Mayo Clinic Intranet.
If you do not see this blue banner and the article is unavailable for download you may submit a request for access using Mayo Clinic Libraries' Document Delivery request form. Mayo Clinic will acquire the PDF and email it to you when it becomes available.
If you are unable to download the article's full-text PDF upon clicking the Nomad banner or require additional assistance acquiring full-text PDFs, please contact us.
If you know you will be out of the office soon and don’t want alerts to accumulate in your inbox, toggle the Email Alerts: ON button. Switching this button to OFF will suspend email delivery.
To catch up on the alerts you've missed, click the green box in the journal's "View Alerts" column.
This list contains links to the dates the alerts were sent, the content of the alerts, and the journal's homepage.
If you no longer want to receive a journal's alerts, scroll down the "My Alerts" tab to locate the journal you'd like to unsubscribe from, then deselect the checkmark in the "Subscribe" column.
Important details about a journal including its ISSN, aims and scope, access status, and publishing requirements can be found on its publisher-hosted homepage.
Once logged into your Current Awareness account, search for the journal by name or alphabetically. Click the green Publisher's Website button to the right of its corresponding search result to visit the journal's homepage.
Journal websites vary by publisher, but most information can be found under headings such as "Journal Information" or "Journal Homepage."
You can alternately navigate to a journal's website by searching it by name on the eJournals tab of the Mayo Clinic Libraries catalog and selecting its linked search result.
