New "Your Favorites" system added to the library homepage

Since the launch of the new library website, we have been asked by several users about what happened to their favorites from the old site. The new platform the library website runs on now does not allow us to have individual user accounts, so we cannot track your favorites within the site itself. Although we couldn't recreate the exact system that we had before, we have developed a replacement “Favorites” system and migrated your old bookmarks to the new Library website. This new system is linked under the "Your Favorites" button, as shown at the right.

There are some limitations in the new system:

  • The new system is only available on-campus or when connected to VPN
  • Unfortunately, title data for some items was lost in the migration. You may edit these items to replace titles, or remove them and add a new bookmark to replace the old one.

There are also some new features:

  • We’ve added a bookmarklet tool that can bookmark any page on the web and add it to your Library bookmarks page.
  •  We created a “quick login” button that you can drag to your desktop, browser toolbar, or OneDrive for easy access to your bookmarks from any Mayo PC

When you have a moment, please consider trying the new Favorites system. We hope it will be a suitable replacement for the old system
