What is ResearcherID?

ResearcherID is a web platform where researchers can register for a unique researcher ID number and update their profile information, build their publication list, and select to make their profile public or private. It is now fully integrated with Publons.

ResearcherID is a freely available resource for the global, multi-disciplinary scholarly research community.

ResearcherID has the following limitations:

  • Need to add publications that are not indexed by Web of Science manually or import them from another source

You can register for a ResearcherID here. You will be sent an email with a link to complete the registration. After providing some personal information, your uniqute ReseacherID is sent to you via email.

Tips for working with ResearcherID

There are three methods for updating and correcting researcher profiles on Publons:

  1. Researchers can curate their own profile, including importing, and deleting publications.

  2. Organizations can use the batch upload service to create and update profiles. To find out more about the batch upload service, please get in touch at 

  3. Anyone can report inaccuracies spotted on others’ profiles by creating a support ticket for assistance here:
