Services and Policies

The W. Bruce Fye Center For the History of Medicine carefully regulates the use of materials in its collections. Policies governing access, photoduplication/scanning, and publication of these materials follow archival and museum standards and are established by the Archives staff with the advice of the Historical Committee.  Our policies and services attempt to balance the needs of patrons, patient confidentiality, the rights of copyright holders, and the Center's own rights and responsibilities towards its collections.

  • Research consultations
  • Records retention consultation (e.g., department minutes, annual reports, etc.)
  • Mediated photocopying
  • Assistance on historical presentations (quotes, facts, images)
  • Tours may be requested by contacting Renee Ziemer
  • Donations review and material acquisition (please see wish list for current collection needs)

Hours

Open for Self-Guided Tours:
Mon-Fri 9:00am - 4:00pm

Volunteers are present from 11:00 - 1:00

The Historical Suite is open to Mayo Clinic staff, patients and their families. It is not open to the general public.
